THE MOST HOLY TRINITY (A)
10th/11th June 2017
Dear Parishioner,
Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (Year A). John 3: 16-18. Through our
life in Christ we live the life of the Trinity. God is a perfect community and if we model our lives on the Trinity
then the God of and peace will be with us. Once a young boy stood watching a gypsy as he drank from a well in the town
square. After drinking, the man continued to gaze into the well, as though looking at someone. He was a giant of a man
but had a friendly face. So the boy approached him and asked: 'Who lives down there?' 'God does',
answered the gypsy. 'Can I see him?' 'Sure you can,' said the gypsy. Then taking the boy into his arms
he lifted him up so that he could see down into the well. All the boy could see, however, was his own reflection in the
water. 'But that's only me,' he cried in disappointment. 'All I see is me.' 'Ah,' replied
the gypsy, 'now you know where God lives. He lives in you.'
We now move into the season through the year (Ordinary Time) which does not celebrate any particular aspect of the
mysteries of Christ, but rather the mystery of Christ himself in his fullness is recalled, especially on Sundays. You
may ask why 'Ordinary'. This is time for us to pray for the following intentions: A Deeper Understanding
between Christians and Jews; Those who suffer Persecution, Oppression and Denial of Human Rights; Europe; Human Life;
Seafarers.
Today we warmly welcome Fr. Pius Collins o.praem. from the Norbertine Community, London Road, Chelmsford. He was
solemnly professed in July 2015 and ordained to the priesthood in February 2016. He is now Chaplain to Anglia Ruskin
University.

CHURCH INFORMATION Over the last few weeks we have much damage done to the Church. We are asking
parishioners to be vigilant and if you are passing the Church at anytime please check around. The Police have been
notified. We do need CCTV around the Church building. On top of this we have quite a lot of other repairs. The recent
Quinquennial Report has shown that the work required over the next five years will amount to £58,000. If any
Parishioner feels they could contribute toward CCTV we would be very grateful. Thank you all for your support and God
bless.
