THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
16th August 2020

Dear parishioners,

Thank you for all your support and prayers leading up to my ordination to the Diaconate. It was a very blessed day and knowing that you were there virtually meant so much to me. The parish is wonderful and throughout my whole time in formation I have felt so blessed by your encouragement.

Today we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our Lady is crowned Queen of all heaven and earth and through her intercession she presents our prayers to her Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Her "yes" to the will of God changed history forever. Each one of us has our own "yes" within our lives and we should take courage to hear the voice of God. I know for me personally, it took some time until I was able to listen to what God was calling me to. Spending time at the Grotto and spending time in Adoration I was able to discern what God wanted me to do. If you are making a decision whatever this may be, present to Our Lady and know that she will bring it to her Son.

I'm grateful for all your prayers and know that I pray for you daily. I now go into my final year and please continue to pray for me as I prepare to be ordained a priest.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!

Michael (Barwick)
